While it's true that eating too much meat can cause side effects as well as long-term health risks, I think it is the best source of protein, which our body needs to function optimally. The reason I think this is that plant-based proteins aren't as easily absorbed by the body. Therefore, I can't imagine being vegan and replace all of the meat in my diet with plant-based protein. In my opinion, most people wouldn't be healthier if they stopped eating meat. They would, however, become healthier by reducing their meat consumption without becoming vegan or vegetarian.
