1. I don't think there's a need of protecting animals better. Maybe people should just take their wastes with them. The rest is OK and doesn't need any improvements.
2. I don't agree and such ideas sound irrational and dangerous. Nowadays, people tend to take much more care about animals than human beings. They cry when see a puppy locked in a car, but don't care about starving children. In my opinion, it's a very dangerous phenomenon and we should learn how to recognise the difference between animals and humans again.
3. I think it's still the dog for its friendly behaviour and social skills. Many people believe that their dogs can understand them better than people, which is obviously false as they can perceive only some emotions and this is not understanding. Dogs' loyalty is the result of being dependent from owners, but some people prefer believing dogs understand them better.
4. I guess it's a kind of fashion and showing off. Some may do it because they aren't emotionally mature and look for emotional stimulation, which can be delivered by the risk of keeping a dangerous animal. It's a kind of compensation.
