Wanda Rutkiewicz -
Wanda Rutkiewicz was a Polish mountain climber and a computer engineer. She is famous for being the first woman to reach the summit of K2 and the third woman to climb Mount Everest. Wanda was born into a Polish family in Plungė, Lithuania. After WW II, they moved to Wrocław (where she grew up), and she graduated from Wroclaw University of Technology as an electrical engineer. Her job was being a computer engineer. She also started to have her climbing career. Her main adventure was reaching the summit of K2 and climbing Mount Everest.
