Hans Christian Andersen was born in 1805. He lived in a poor family. In his childhood, he attracted all the attention, because of his look. Christian was also awkward and the kids doesn't want to play with him. He always knew he want to be affluent and recognizable. When he was 14, he traveled to Copenhagen to try his hand as an actor, dancer, or singer. In 1822 he received a chance to study in school Slagelse. In 1835 he published his first collection of fairy tales. People didn't react well to his masterpiece. They said it had no educational value. In newspapers, they published things saying that Andersen has no talent and he is a coxcomb. He wasn't caring about that and was writing even more. Hans wrote 156 fairytales. I admire him for not giving up and continuing to write. I want to be like him. Not caring about people's opinions and continuing to follow dreams is my new life motto.
