- The weather is nice and many aspiring artists try their skills outdoors.
- He is painting the buildings because he would like to capture their reflection in the river.
- He is painting the buildings because he likes the contrast of colours and how sunlight and shade play games.
2. Do you enjoy painting or going to art exhibitions? Why? / Why not?
I do not enjoy painting. I believe it requires a real gift or talent, or some serious practice. I tried oils and water paints, and I decided quickly it was not for me, but I like drawing. Pencils or charcoal are easier and do not require such skill set like paints. I do like going to art exhibitions - it gives me better understanding of how art evolved through the centuries and allows me to appreciate different forms of art.
3. Tell me about a recent class visit to a museum.
Our class has never been to a museum or an art exhibition. I think maybe in the past schools used to organise such trips, but they no longer do. My last visit to an art exhibition was in February, when during the winter break my family went to Gdansk and we stopped by to see the gallery in the Artus Court. My favourite exposition pieces were the replicas of old ships, as if taken straight from the Old World era. It was easy to image Columbus, Magellan or other famous explorers on such ships, sailing to conquer the new continents.
