*Mowy zależnej (reported/indirect speech) używamy do przekazania czyjejś wypowiedzi bez dosłownego cytowania jej.
Przy tworzeniu zdań w mowie zależnej musimy pamiętać o następstwie czasów, które polega na "cofnięciu" czasu użytego w zdaniu podrzędnym, jeśli słówko wprowadzające (narrative verb) jest w Past Simple.
Zmianie ulegają też zaimki wskazujące, osobowe, określenia czasu, miejsca.
