In Poland, each of the household members opens gifts at the same time, so it does not take that long.

In many families in Poland, gifts are opened after dinner on Christmas Eve, but this is just a custom and an unwritten tradition. There is no Catholic obligation to give gifts or any specific time limit for giving or opening gifts. But there was a custom that the gift would open after the first star in the sky.
