An ambition to become a champion.
Mike is a typical, twelve-year-old boy from the sunny, tropical island of Jamaica. He has got two older brothers and a younger sister. Mike’s dad is a car mechanic, and his mum is a maths teacher at a local school in Montego Bay. Just like other boys his age, Mike goes to school, meets friends and enjoys playing computer games.
Mike has also got a big ambition. He wants to become a Formula 1 champion one day, so he practices go-karting just like his favourite Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso did.
Mike spends a lot of time on the go-karting track. He practises five times a week, from Tuesday to Saturday. His training sessions start in the afternoon and finish in the evening. Mike also goes jogging every morning and he visits gym three times a week to build up his muscles.
Mike knows that go-karting can be dangerous, which is why he always wears a helmet and a special leather outfit. He also wears gloves on his hands and comfortable shoes. Mike trains hard so he won a lot of go-karting competitions and now has a big collection of cups and medals.
Mike enjoys watching good films with his friends Monica and Timothy. They never watch horrors or comedies but they love watching adventure and science-fiction films together.
Healthy eating is very important to Mike. He starts his day with a bowl of cereal with milk and fruit.
He also eats a lot of vegetables, rice and meat. He does not eat s sweets and fast food, and his favourite drink is pineapple juice.
