In my opinion, this is a happy family, all the members except for Emma's trying to be optimistic about the situation, about all the things that she has yet to know.

Emma seems a little bit depressed and sad about the whole situation, she doesn't think that the same could happen to her that happened for her parents. I personally don't understand her, I'm not her age, I don't know what to think about in my age.
