It is hard to decide that cannabis should be legalized but I’ll present reasons why it should be.
Cannabis is now like a “forbidden fruit” – you can’t have it because it is illegal, so you want to have it more and more. It is about the choice a man has and which is one of the human most important needs. It’s confirmed by official researches. Tightening the bans doesn’t make that people use less cannabis. It’s the other way. Like in the Netherlands, where it is legal, the use of cannabis has been stable since many years.
Cannabis was proved to be helpful in curing some illnesses, especially cancer or epilepsy that can’t be cured with any medicine. Legalized cannabis gives fast and stress-free for patients who use medical cannabis as an alternative or supplement to traditional medicine.
Cannabis is not as dangerous as alcohol, cigarettes or medicines. Nobody died of using cannabis. Based on some international researches the lethal dose of cannabis is 20 000 to 40 000 more than in a single “cannabis cigarette”. And this is not possible to happen.
Cannabis is also used for other purposes, for example in beauty sector. It’s used as a component of some cosmetics, body lotions, shampoos, moisturizing conditioners and soaps. It’s also reach in omega-3 acids, calcium and iron.
There are many more reasons why cannabis should be legalized but these are the most important in my opinion.
