If so, then you probably know that parents usually worry about their kids spending too much time playing computer games. In this article, I'd like to share some ideas on how to show your mum and dad that your hobby is not as bad as they think. I used to get into a lot of trouble because of my gaming passion. My parents didn't understand it and often got angry when I was playing computer games until late at night. One day, while I was trying to get to a higher level at my favourite game, they even switched the computer off and told me to find another hobby! At that moment, I realised that I had to do something about my computer game addiction. Firstly, I agreed not to play any longer than an hour a day and to avoid games which had a lot of fights and guns. Secondly, my parents and I started to talk about gaming. Since then, my parents have become interested in some of my favourite games and now they sometimes sit with me and watch me play the games. Finally, we've created some rules: I can play the games if my schoolwork is OK, I do some sport and meet my friends in the real world. So, if you want to enjoy your passion for gaming, be open and helpful. Talk to your parents, show them that you can act responsibly, and try to explain that video games are much more interesting than they think. 1 Why did the author write the article?
